Since October 2019, I am a Professor for Finance and Business Analytics at the University of Graz. Before I was a professor for Integrated Financial Risk Management at the Leuphana University Lüneburg and an assistant professor at the University of Groningen. My Habilitation (German post-doc degree) at the University of Kiel covers various topics in financial intermediation and markets. I wrote my PhD-thesis on dynamic efficiency in venture capital industries during my stay at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

I have been a visiting scholar at the University of Münster, at the University of Gent, at the Centre for European Economic Research, Mannheim, at the University of Oklahoma and at the National Bureau of Economic Research, Cambridge MA. I have frequently visited the Research Center of the Deutsche Bundesbank. Inter alia, I presented my research results at conferences of the Financial Management Association, the Swiss Society for Financial Market Research, the German Finance Association, the European Economic Association, and the Verein für Socialpolitik.
