Dr. Katharina Gerhalter
I work as an university assistant at the Department of Romance Studies, where I teach and conduct research in the field of linguistics. I specialize in corpus linguistics and the interface between syntax, semantics and pragmatics, as well as the diachronic development of discourse functions (historical pragmatics). My dissertation (2018) dealt with the adjective-adverb interface in Spanish. I am currently preparing my habilitation thesis on topicalized infinitives in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
