XBW 2025
Scope
The Christmas Biophysics Workshops (XBW) are a series of regional meetings bringing together research groups from Austria, Croatia, Italy, and Slovenia working in biophysics, soft matter physics, and related disciplines.
The first XBW was organized in 2006 in Zagreb by Rudolf Podgornik (Ljubljana, Slovenia) and Silvia Tomić (Zagreb, Croatia). Since then, each December, scientists from across the region have gathered in a small town to share their latest research, exchange ideas, and strengthen both scientific and personal connections. The workshops are intentionally informal, fostering a friendly and collaborative atmosphere where discussions flow freely and new partnerships are born.
This year’s workshop will take place in Sankt Georgen am Längsee, a picturesque village near Klagenfurt, Carinthia. Participants will present their work in short talks. The 2025 edition is dedicated to the memory of Rudolf Podgornik, who sadly passed away last year.
