Research
I am professor of economics at the Department of Economics and associate researcher at the Institute of Public Economics of the University of Graz, Austria. My research focuses on behavioral (public) economic theory and dynamic macroeconomics. I am also member of the editorial boards of Macroeconomic Dynamics and Studies in Microeconomics. I spent many years as a research scholar / visiting professor at the University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley), Stanford University, and Harvard University. I have published in many leading international journals on issues relating to social comparisons and public policy, including in the International Economic Review, European Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Political Economy Microeconomics, Journal of Mathematical Economics, Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Oxford Economic Papers, Economic Theory, Journal of Public Economic Theory, Journal of Macroeconomics, and Macroeconomic Dynamics.
