In my research, I develop approaches for simulating and analysing groundwater systems. I am particularly interested in how observations at springs, in groundwater and in soils can be used to draw conclusions about the properties of groundwater systems and possible changes in the water cycle due to climate change or other human interventions.

I teach the basics of hydrogeology as well as in-depth aspects of the characterization and modelling of groundwater recharge, groundwater flow and pollutant transport processes in the Geosciences Bachelor's programme and the Environmental System Sciences / Climate and Environmental Monitoring Master's programme.
