EFRE-Reliktische Blockgletscher als Grundwasserspeicher (2011-2014)
This project was focused on the genesis and the hydraulic behaviour of relict rock glaicers as important groundwater storages in alpine catchments. Analytic methods and numerical modeling were applied to determine the hydraulic properties and develope a conceptual model of these aquifers. In addition the impact of these landforms on the drainage behaviour further downstream was investigated. Thus it could be shown that relict rock glaciers represent complex aquifers with a high storage capacity.
