Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stefan Borsky
I am an environmental economist with a focus on the spatial interdependencies between individuals and regions. My research has contributed to the empirical literature on international trade in raw materials, international environmental agreements, and weather-induced economic shocks. Currently, I study how climate variability and climate change influence population dynamics and the structure of urban areas. More information on my current research can be found here. My publications are available here and on my Google Scholar and Research Gate profiles. In 2024, I organized the EAERE Summer School in Resource and Environmental Economics – Data Science in Environmental Economics Research.
I am an Associate Professor at the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change, an associate member of the Field of Excellence Climate Change Graz, and a member of the EconClim research group at the Wegener Center.
I completed my PhD in Economics at the University of Innsbruck in 2011 and subsequently held a postdoctoral position at the University of Southern Denmark.
