I am a computational evolutionary biologist interested in the evolution and the genomic bases of ecological and behavioural adaptive traits in a range of study systems, including parasitic flatworms and cichlid fishes.
In my work I specialise in the analyses of large-scale genomic data, including de novo genome assembly, comparative genomics, phylogenomics, population genomics, and general bioinformatics pipeline development (reconstruction of organellar genomes, eDNA metabarcoding data analysis). I am highly proficient in a number scripting languages and a wide range of bioinformatics software applications, as well as the use of High performance computing (HPC) infrastructure.
In my research I strive towards using modern bioinformatics tools with particular emphasis on reproducibility and provenance.
