Julia Gspandl is a sociolinguist and postdoctoral fellow at the Plurilingualism Research Unit of treffpunkt sprachen.
She teaches sociolinguistics with a focus on sign languages and multimodal multilingualism. Her PhD project explores the semiotic repertoires and language use of deaf migrants in Austria.
Research interests: repertoires and languaging of deaf migrants, sign language acquisition, the intersection of sign language and gesture, sociolinguistics with a focus on minority languages.
