Dr. Katharina Gerhalter

I work as an university assistant at the Department of Romance Studies, where I teach and conduct research in the field of linguistics. I specialize in corpus linguistics and the interface between syntax, semantics and pragmatics, as well as the diachronic development of discourse functions (historical pragmatics). My Ph.D. thesis (2018) dealt with the adjective-adverb interface in Spanish. I am currently preparing my habilitation thesis on topicalized infinitives in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
