Butschety, Madeleine, BA. MA.
I got my Master's degree in General Linguistics at the University of Vienna in 2017 (Thesis topic: The interpretation of superlative numeral Modifiers in English and German). Since 2018, I am a PhD student at the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz. In my dissertation, I develop a new analysis of the German additive particle auch, based on syntactic constructions which do (and do not) involve quantification. Currently, I am also about to finish my Master's degree in Literary Studies at the Germanistic Department of the University of Vienna (Thesis topic: Endogame und exogame Strukturen in den Erzählungen Adalbert Stifters).
My main research interests include topics at the syntax-semantics interface, such as quantifiers, complement anaphora, feature agreement, (epistemic) modal adverbs, particles, indexicals and pronominal binding in ellipsis.
Current research projects: additive particles, exceptive constructions, epistemic vs. concessive interpretations of at least, comitative constructions/phi-feature agreement in Finno-Ugric and Slavic languages
