Fridolin on Tours (FFG-Project)

For many years, the development and implementation of sustainable innovations in the mobility sector has been a central topic area within the Styrian economy and Styrian research. The question as to the shape that transport and movement will take in the future and which sources of energy it will be possible to use for these represents one of the key questions for maintaining our quality of life and for the efficient use of resources. However, mobility also provides an illustrative example that will help to familiarise children with the concepts and methods of science and technology. The project "Fridolin auf Touren" is targeted at preschool children and those in compulsory education – age groups for which it is particularly important to foster educational curiosity. The aim is to develop and implement sustainable structures and instruments in order to provide children with age-appropriate access to regional research and innovations systems with the help of "mobility". By including important regional post-secondary educational institutions and an innovative enterprise, the present project can offer authentic job descriptions as well as perspectives for later choosing a course of education and a profession.
